Did you know that the latest version of STS Payments’ (STS) G8 payment application, version 2.9, is fully validated against PA-DSS 3.1 requirements? This means that the use of G8 helps merchants simplify the task of achieving PCI-DSS compliance and confirms that it is valid for all new deployments.
In order for G8 to be deemed PA-DSS compliant, STS had to ensure it met the strict requirements set out by the PCI Security Standards Council in their PA-DSS guidelines. Validation occurs after the payment applications have been fully assessed for compliance by qualified security assessors.
The Payment Application Data Security Standard (PA-DSS) was written to provide the data standards for companies that develop payment applications to be sold on to third parties and as such is applicable to STS. PA-DSS looks to prevent these payment applications from exposing secure data from electronic payment transactions. Achieving PA-DSS compliance ensures that applications are compatible with PCI-DSS and therefore provides assurance to the merchant that it can be used in a PCI-DSS compliant solution.
G8 is STS’ highly flexible payment application which allows merchants to accept debit and credit card-based transactions using any integrated point-of-sale, any payment terminal and any payment gateway. G8 accepts all card types and payment methods and its framework easily allows for loyalty, hospitality and other value-added services to be included within the solution. G8 handles the complete transaction flow from card insertion and authorisation to settlement with the payment gateway.
Merchants are advised by the PCI Council to only use approved payment applications within their payment solutions and so why not come and talk to us about how STS and G8 can help you with all your electronic cardholder present (CHP) payment requirements?
